On May 29, 2023, at the Europe House in Tirana, the launch event was held for the three-year project **\u201cCivil Society Against Corruption \u2013 From a Local Challenge to a European Response,\u201d** financially supported by the European Union and implemented by the Albanian Helsinki Committee in partnership with the ALTRI Center and Friends of Europe.<\/p>\n
The event brought together representatives of key justice and anti-corruption institutions in the country, as well as civil society actors. In their welcome remarks, Ms. Erida Sk\u00ebndaj (Albanian Helsinki Committee), Mr. Hubert Perr (EU Delegation), Ms. Eda No\u00e7ka (ALTRI Center), and Mr. Dharmendra Kanani (Friends of Europe) emphasized the importance of this project in strengthening the role of civil society in the fight against corruption and in promoting a culture of integrity and transparency.<\/p>\n
Interventions from institutional partners, including representatives from SPAK, the Ministry of Justice, ILDKPKI, KLGJ, and KLP, focused on the ongoing efforts and challenges in building an efficient, independent, and trustworthy justice system. The importance of the active involvement of civil society organizations as partners in monitoring and promoting anti-corruption policies was also emphasized.<\/p>\n
A key element of the project is the creation of the National Anti-Corruption Network, which aims to build bridges of cooperation between CSOs and public institutions, fostering a comprehensive approach to the fight against corruption at both the national and local levels.<\/p>\n
