Civil society is an important actor in the fight against corruption, having demonstrated commitment and determination in this regard for many years.

To strengthen the role of civil society in policymaking and decision-making processes, to encourage their active engagement, and to promote closer collaboration with institutions involved in the fight against corruption, the Albanian Helsinki Committee (AHC), in cooperation with the ALTRI Center and Friends of Europe (FoE), is implementing the project titled “Civil Society Against Corruption – From a Local Challenge to a European Response.” This project is financially supported by the European Union and will be implemented over a 36-month period, until December 31, 2025.

The project aims to establish a network of CSOs against corruption, an informal national-level network intended to unite organizations in efforts and initiatives against corruption, promoting good governance, and strengthening the rule of law. It seeks to improve national policy by combining forces, expertise, and enhancing the impact of the desired outcomes. To achieve the goal of bringing organizations together within the Anti-Corruption Network and to strengthen their capacities to undertake monitoring, advocacy, and awareness-raising initiatives in the fight against corruption—as well as to plan, organize, and implement joint initiatives—several training sessions will be offered to the network organizations, tailored according to the needs identified through individual assessments of the capacities and requirements of the network’s member organizations.

To facilitate communication and interaction among the network’s CSOs, a digital platform will be created to serve as a space where CSOs can exchange information and discuss achievements, challenges encountered, concerns, or priorities in the fight against corruption, good governance, and justice-related issues. The platform will also provide a space to coordinate joint initiatives and advocate collectively for the improvement of policies, legislation, and the implementation of necessary measures.

The network will not be able to achieve its objectives if other key actors in the fight against corruption are not part of it, as joint initiatives and positions of the CSOs would lack the necessary impact. Therefore, the network platform will also include institutions engaged in anti-corruption efforts, the media, businesses, and citizens (who will have access to all publicly published information and documentation for the purposes of informing, raising awareness, and civic education, among others).

We invite all civil society organizations to join the National Anti-Corruption Network by completing the following form.
