Civil Society Forum: The First Step Towards the National Anti-Corruption Network

September 2023, Tirana

In September 2023, the first consultative forum with civil society organizations was held in Tirana as part of the project “Civil Society Against Corruption – From a Domestic Challenge to a European Response,” an initiative financially supported by the European Union and implemented by the Albanian Helsinki Committee, in partnership with the ALTRI Center and Friends of Europe.

The main goal of this forum was to present one of the project’s most important components: the establishment of the National Anti-Corruption Network. The Network aims to strengthen the role of civil society organizations in policymaking and decision-making processes by promoting more structured and effective cooperation with state institutions in the fight against corruption.

Through this network, the goal is to increase awareness, exchange good practices, and encourage more active involvement of CSOs in monitoring, advocacy, and response to corruption phenomena across various areas of public life.

During the forum, participants were also informed about the application process to join the Network through an expression of interest form published on the official website of the ALTRI Center. This initiative represents a concrete step toward building a united civic front for strengthening transparency, accountability, and integrity in Albania.
